What's this about?
At its most basic, A Photo A Day is a personal challenge to force me to take photo's and put them out for display.
I have the problem of not taking many photo's, and of the ones I do take, I hardly make any of them available to view for the public, so APhAD was my way of forcing myself to do otherwise.
In addition to this, I wanted to give myself a challenge from a website development point of view to create what is essentially, a complete photoblog web application with just a short deadline.
It's not complete, granted, but it has enough features for me to be able to add an entry and image and to allow you people to look at the images and comment on the entries.
Who are you?
My name's Lewis, I am presently 22 years old and I live in Brighton in the Southeast of England.
My primary interests are, obviously, photography and website development.
Secondary interests include Physics, Technological Singularity, Transhumanism, Art in General and Computer Hardware.
I like Science Fiction films and books, Electronic Music and FPS and RPG games.
Of course, those are the basics, I'm sure as you frequent this site more you'll get to know me a little better.
I can also be found at lewisupperton.com (my portfolio), sineout.com my blog and whatnot and sine-out.deviantART.com which is my deviantART.com profile, obviously.
What are you using to make these Photo's?
I am using:
- Nikon D50
- Nikon 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G lens (came with camera as part of kit)
- Nikon 50mm F/1.8D lens
- Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Macro 1:2 lens
- Samsung D900
How long do you expect to keep this going?
I intend to keep this going for as long as I need to keep it going. My aim is for this challenge to last for a year at least, however, I will only continue this challenge for as long as I feel I am getting something useful out of the process.
If you've any other questions, please ask.
